Gaff opened his chair and set it on the beach, in his spot.The chair was ratty and old, the way he felt today. This had been his spot for years and even when the beach was crowded, somehow it was always empty, waiting for him. The cooler went beside the chair, ready. He turned to gaze at the waves breaking on the sand. He said to the surf and to the wind, “Good morning. I’m
always happy to see you, my friends. Thank you for inspiring
me—letting me breath in your energy.” Gaff inhaled deeply.
